Have you thought for a moment that the year 2020, has completely changed our lives and there is no turning back?

If there is anything that 2020 taught me is that circumstances can change dramatically fast and the second one is that having control of my own schedule and doing the most important things to me is absolutely invaluable.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, world economies stand butchered and the safety of the job market rings hollow. Now ET has reported that about 27 million youth, between the ages of 20 to 30, lost their jobs in April 2020 alone.

Millions of workers are doing their day jobs from makeshift set-ups in their living rooms and kitchens, while those who can’t work from home are now encouraged to go back in if they can do so safely.

But how exposed to coronavirus might you be in your job? And how does that compare to others?

Some jobs may find it easier to adjust than others and there may be slightly different working practices and conditions for certain occupations.

It is never a pleasant feeling for any individual when he or she is given the pink slip. The word ‘dismissal’ is a dreaded one as it brings before eyes all the situations like loss of social status, financial hard times such as inability to pay rent, insurance, mortgage and insecurity about further career prospects.

So how do you know what to expect in your future?

If you look at the whole process then the layoff or dismissal does not happen overnight nor does it happen without any reasons.

These days, “downsizing” and “right size” are buzz words in the business organizations.

Even in a time where the industries continue to show strong signs of growth, job security remains an issue within the new media community.

If you as an individual or as a business owner are not thinking of ways to disrupt the industry you specialize in, someone else is and it will be you who face the other end of the scenario. In other words, it is now more important than ever to adapt to the times, or just give up and let the world move on without your business.

Now, this may sound like a pretty dire situation. However, quite the contrary. It is actually one of the most exciting times in human history, if you so choose to look at it this way. The reason is because even though the old ways are beginning to disappear, the opportunity for innovation has never been greater!

Adopting the philosophy of working toward disruption instead of succumbing to it is fueling an explosive growth in new training opportunities and startups. So, even if you’re not quite sure how to become a disruptor, the reasons to seek out how to become one are growing and so is access to innovative ways to achieve it.

The list of skills that you can begin to develop today goes on and on. The sooner you get a jump on learning these new skills, the more secure your place in the economy will be. Overall, remember that technology is simply a tool for us to advance in exciting new ways: it is not an enemy to be feared. It encourages us to better ourselves and push beyond the self-imposed limits we implement.

Use the tools to your greatest advantage.

How do you create a business and lifestyle you love? It may seem tricky but I’ve done it, so you can do it too.
